Join Breakfast Book Club every Friday in the library beginning Friday, September 1st from 8:15 to 8:40. Bring your own breakfast, and come and talk about books! No reading required!

ALL STUDENTS (grades 9-12) must have their picture taken with Cindy Dover during school pictures to get a student ID.

  • Some schools are starting to require student IDs along with tickets to sporting events, so get your picture taken just in case!

Picture Schedule:

  • If students have English on a Blue day, they will have their pictures taken on 8/29
  • If students have English on a Red day, they will have pictures on 8/30
  • If students take English at ECS, they will have pictures at ECS on Thursday 8/31

The Scott County Cardinal Players will be holding auditions for the fall play "Twisted Tales of Terror" next week, Wednesday August 30 and Thursday August 31 after school in the auditorium. This is for any SCHS student grades 9-12. There are lots of roles and this is a great show to start with if you have never been in a play before. Audition packets are available in room 246. Anyone interested in stage crew does not need to attend auditions, we will have a meeting at a later date.

Any student interested in auditioning for Gifted and Talented Dance can pick up an audition packet from the front office! Forms in the Packet are due back in the front office by August 28th!

Card-Time Announcements:

Any students that missed Chromebook collection on Monday or Tuesday will need to hold their device and charger until Monday, May 8th. Mr. Baker will be set up in the front foyer in the morning, on Monday, May 8th, and outside the cafeteria during all four lunches. Monday, May 8th.

Students and families in Grades 9-11 were sent Summer School Information earlier. This information has also been added to students Grade Level Google Classrooms. Sign-ups are May 1-May 30.

There will be a Duel Credit Orientation on May 18th, held at SCHS. Students planning to take dual credit classes next year are required to attend a Dual Credit Orientation. Sign-up information can be found in your grade level google classroom or talk with your counselor.

The Cards defeated LCA in both girls and boy’s tennis 3-2 yesterday.

In girls’ singles, Ellen Mueller won while doubles teams Sydney Zakic/Allie McClanahan and Melanie McClanahan/Haleigh Pearson won.

In boy’s single’s, Matteo Arte, Noah Gibson, and Wyatt Holbrook all won in straight sets.

You will also be given a GC/SC T-shirt! Tickets are $20 at lunch this week.

Card-Time Announcements:

DanceBlue tickets are on sale! You can buy them during lunch outside the cafeteria or card time in rm. 234. Tickets are $20 and come in the form of a DanceBlue t shirt. You will need to wear your t shirt to get into the event THIS FRIDAY, APRIL 14th at Great Crossing High School. DanceBlue will be from 6-11pm. What can you expect? Chick fil a, pizza, inflatables, a dj, rave hour, and so much more. This is a fundraiser to raise money for kids diagnosed with pediatric cancer. We will reveal the total amount of money raised for the UK Dance Blue Clinic at 11 pm sharp. We will also do the UK DanceBlue line Dance at the top of every hour that University of Kentucky students will teach participants at 6pm. In between will be filled with games/activities for students to do. Help us meet our fundraising goal! You can also buy a t shirt/ticket at the event!

PL Dunbar visited Scott County yesterday and the Scott County girls team picked up a 3-2 win. The doubles teams of Sydney Zakic/Melanie McClanahan and Kate Schindler/Anna Marie Biddle both won their courts and #3 singles was a walkover taken by Courtney Carter.

The Cards next tennis match is Monday VS Western Hills at home.

Makenna Roseland and Skyler Denham of Scott county FFA submitted their agricultural projects to the regional competition last night, and placed third and first out of 17 FFA chapters in the Bluegrass region. Skyler Denham’s project will be advancing to the state competition in June.
