Tomorrow, SCHS is hosting a College fair from 9:30-11:30am. Juniors and Seniors, please be at school tomorrow to meet with over 40 college/university and military representatives!!!! Seniors will be called down at 9:30 and Juniors will be called down at 10:00. Let’s make a good impression!

This week is spirit week! We would love to see as many staff members as possible participate! The themes each day represent different movies and are as followed:

Monday: SLEEPOVER! Wear your favorite pjs!

Tuesday: SCHOOL OF ROCK! Wear your favorite band merch!

Wednesday: BARBIE! Dress up as Barbie or Ken!

Thursday: THE PARENT TRAP! Twin with your teacher bestie(s)!

Friday: BRING IT ON! Wear your favorite SCHS gear!

Congratulations to the girls’ and boys’ Cross Country teams for a great performance on Saturday. Jaiden Lazarin led the girls’ team to a 3rd place overall finish by placing 7th out of 71 runners! They’ll be back in action this coming Saturday at Masterson Station Park in Lexington.

The SCHS Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday, September 23rd from 7-10pm. Tickets will be sold for $7/person during lunch hours Monday, September 18th through Friday, September 22nd. TICKETS WILL NOT BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. If you are a dual credit/co-op student, please see Ms. Shaw in room 234 next week to purchase your ticket. If you are bringing a guest who does not attend SCHS, they must have the guest form completed and turned into Ms. Shaw (room 234) or Mrs. Wilson (room 236). Guest forms can be found in the front office. Just a reminder, TICKETS WILL NOT BE SOLD AT THE DOOR.

ACT Boot Camp will be held today September 8, from 4:00 – 5:30. This is a free event. Sign-ups will be in Guidance starting today. Mrs. Musick will cover Reading and English. Mr. Shields will cover Math and Mr. Daniels will cover Science. Any student wanting to improve their ACT scores are welcome! If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Albensi in room 102.

Anyone interested in stage crew for the fall play – There is a meeting after school in the auditorium on Monday September 11 until 5pm.

2023 Homecoming this year will consist of both King and Queen candidates. Voting will take place on Friday, September 8th. Ballots will be generated from Infinite Campus. All SCHS students will be on the ballot as names will be generated from Infinite Campus. If your common name is different from IC. Example Name is Elizabeth but everyone knows you as Beth see Front Office to make changes by Wednesday Sept 6th. Homecoming game is Friday, September 22nd, and the Dance will be Saturday, September 23. More details to come.

This is for any SCHS student grades 9-12. There are lots of roles and this is a great show to start with if you have never been in a play before. Audition packets are available in room 246. The deadline to turn student council applications in is Friday morning. Applications can be picked up/turned into Ms. Shaw in room 234 or Mrs. Wilson (232). We will be having a short meeting after school on Friday to go over campaign rules if selected to run.

Card-Time Announcements:

Any students that missed Chromebook collection on Monday or Tuesday will need to hold their device and charger until Monday, May 8th. Mr. Baker will be set up in the front foyer in the morning, on Monday, May 8th, and outside the cafeteria during all four lunches. Monday, May 8th.

Students and families in Grades 9-11 were sent Summer School Information earlier. This information has also been added to students Grade Level Google Classrooms. Sign-ups are May 1-May 30.

There will be a Duel Credit Orientation on May 18th, held at SCHS. Students planning to take dual credit classes next year are required to attend a Dual Credit Orientation. Sign-up information can be found in your grade level google classroom or talk with your counselor.

Attention Seniors: We have posted several local scholarships to our scholarships page on the website. Many of the application dates ace coming due, so be sure and go check them out. Go to SCHS.cards under the counseling department.

Card-Time Announcements:

We will meet with the Seniors today during Card Time to go over Senior Week and Graduation details. If a Senior isn’t in the building during Card Time, all information discussed will be sent to their school email account.

All library books are due by this Friday, April 28th. Seniors, remember, you must pay for lost library books to be able to participate in graduation activities.

There will not be any Social Studies ESS today.
